Objective

The Empowered Bajau initiative set out to answer this question through purposeful, inclusive action. At its heart were four key objectives: To establish a Community Learning and Youth Transformation Center— a safe, culturally respectful space where Sama Bajau children and youth could learn, play, and grow. To provide accessible learning resources, such as books, toys, and culturally responsive materials, bridging educational gaps for marginalized learners. To foster strong multi-sectoral collaboration among local government, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and international partners, ensuring sustainability and shared ownership. To advance the Sustainable Development Goals—specifically SDG 4 Quality Education), SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals)—by creating a community-driven model for inclusive, lasting transformation.

Beneficiaries

JCI Surigao North ensures that the initiative will grow beyond its original scope, transforming beneficiaries into champions of their own future. The surplus is therefore not just a leftover fund—it is an investment in continuity, resilience, and inclusive leadership development within the Sama Bajau community.
