Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Students gear up for the Future through Professional Development Seminar
In a bid to strengthen their career readiness, the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) students of Surigao del Norte State University recently held a Professional Development Seminar titled “Crafting Effective Business Proposals and Excelling Job Interviews.” The event aimed to enhance the competencies of future engineers in preparing compelling business proposals and handling job interviews with confidence and professionalism—skills deemed essential as they transition into the workforce.
Spearheaded by the BSCE student body, the seminar featured a series of talks delivered by invited speakers from JCI Surigao North and the Human Resource and Development Management Office (HRDMO) of Surigao City. The student organization extended their invitation through JCI Surigao North Local Organization President, Atty. Krystel Grace Calderon-Buniel, who endorsed the activity as part of their youth empowerment initiatives.
Among the key speakers was Kenn Edgar Parojinog, JCI Surigao North’s Vice President for Business, who shared practical strategies and structural insights in his session on “Crafting Effective Business Proposals.” Meanwhile, JCI Vice President for Internationalism Shepheionn Carutcho delivered an inspiring talk titled “Blueprint for Growth: A Guide to Becoming a Better Engineer,” emphasizing both technical development and personal leadership. Completing the lineup was Ms. Jahra Cabana from Surigao City HRDMO, who gave an insightful session on “Excelling in Job Interviews,” equipping students with tips on professional presence and interview preparation.
The seminar served not only as a learning platform but also as a meaningful collaboration between academic institutions, government offices, and youth organizations committed to molding capable, confident, and career-ready graduates.
