Real Love Shines Brightly: Surigao Runs with Heart in 2025!

The 2025 Real Love Shines Brightly (RLSB) Valentine’s Fun Run, spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Robert Lyndon S. Barbers, was a huge success! JCI Surigao North led by 2025 LO President Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel and with other organizations were pleased to partner in this event, which saw hundreds of participants celebrating love and health.

This event wasn’t just a fun run; it was an opportunity to demonstrate JCI’s commitment to creating positive change within our community. By promoting physical activity and fostering a sense of unity, we’ve contributed to a healthier and happier Surigao del Norte. Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity 2025: Class 001 Makes History!

Making history! The inaugural Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity 2025 – Class 001 successfully concluded on February 15th! This first wave of training, a collaborative effort between the City of Surigao, Local Youth Development Office, and JCI Surigao North led by 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel and Project Chair 2025 LO Treasurer Dy Anne B. Gales, marked a significant milestone in youth empowerment. Expertly delivered and led by 2017 Regional Vice President for JCI Philippines Northern Mindanao, JCI Senator Richmond Anthony Riain Alfonso, the program equipped young leaders with essential skills in understanding and advocating for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) during the morning session.

The afternoon session focused on Parliamentary Procedure, equipping them with practical skills for effective advocacy and community engagement. This inaugural class lays the groundwork for future waves of the Youthniversity, promising continued growth and development of young leaders who will shape a brighter future for Surigao.

The success of Class 001 is a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and investment in youth development.

The JCI Philippines Northern Mindanao Regional Council Meeting convened in Surigao City, the City of Island Adventure, at the picturesque CM Cottages, Brgy. Ipil on February 9, 2025. Led by the 2025 Regional Vice President David Emmanuel T. Piol, this meeting was a crucial step in planning for the future and charting a course to build better communities across the region.

With 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel and Immediate Past President/Regional Secretary Eric M. JCI Surigao Chapters’ National Skills Development Month commenced with a powerful collaborative effort! On February 1st, 2025 at Copper Room Hotel Tavern Surigao, JCI Surigao Wensie hosted a dynamic training session featuring JCI Philippines’ 2024 National Skills Development Director and 2021 LO President of JCI Surigao Wensie, Kristal Liza C. Besario, with JCI Surigao Nickel and JCI Surigao North providing invaluable support as co-hosts. The JCI Discover and JCI Explore trainings provided participants with practical insights and strategies for building future leaders, effective communication, and leadership development. The event fostered a collaborative atmosphere, encouraging participants to share experiences and learn from one another.

This successful kick-off sets a strong foundation for a month of impactful training initiatives.
