JCI Surigao North was proud to be a part of this incredible event, showcasing our commitment to JCI involvement in youth and sports. We witnessed young athletes rise up to the challenge, demonstrating resilience and dedication.
The awarding ceremonies were a fitting culmination, celebrating the achievements of all participants. Every athlete who took part is a winner in our eyes. Their dedication inspires us to continue our work in building better communities and empowering the youth of Surigao.

JCI Surigao North Breaks Ground for Sama Bajau Learning Center: Building Dreams Through Education and Unity

JCI Surigao North joined forces with the City Government of Surigao, UN-Habitat Philippines, Tahanan ni Juan Foundation, Inc., United Architects of the Philippines Surigao Chapter, and Off-Grid Solar Energy by Light of Hope Philippines for the groundbreaking of the Sama Bajau Community Learning and Empowerment Center in Ecovillage Resettlement Sitio Panubigon, Brgy. Lipata! This collaborative effort is a testament to our shared belief in building better futures for underserved communities. We are committed to helping the Sama Bajau children rise up and achieve their dreams.
This new center will provide a space for continuous learning and growth, fostering a brighter future for generations to come. We believe in the power of education to transform lives, and we’re excited to witness the positive impact this center will have. 🏘

Celebrating International Women's Day with Pinay Power! EmpowerHer: More than just a program, it's a Movement!

JCI Surigao North led by 2025 LO President Atty Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel proudly launched EmpowerHer, a program designed to uplift Badjao women leaders through entrepreneurial literacy training. Our 2025 Vice President for Business, Kenn Edgar Parojinog, expertly led the session, equipping these remarkable women with the skills and knowledge to build sustainable businesses. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to empowering women and fostering economic independence within our community.

Following the resounding success of Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity 2025 Class 001, JCI Surigao North proudly continued its commitment to empowering young leaders! We were delighted to be a part of SIDLAK’25: the 1st SNSU – Wide Student Summit on March 7th at Surigao Norte State University Gymnasium, where we led Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity 2025 Class 002: Parliamentary Procedure. This session equipped students from various campuses and organizations with crucial skills for leading effective meetings and making informed decisions.
Our dedication to youth development drove us forward, building better futures for Surigao’s young people. By providing these essential skills, we invested in the next generation of leaders. We celebrate the positive impact of this program!

We express our sincere gratitude to outgoing President Bryan Lucky Noble together with his 2024 Board of Directors for their outstanding service and for lighting the way forward for a BRYter future. His leadership and dedication have been instrumental in the organization’s progress.

The 2025 Real Love Shines Brightly (RLSB) Valentine’s Fun Run, spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Robert Lyndon S. Barbers, was a huge success! JCI Surigao North led by 2025 LO President Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel and with other organizations were pleased to partner in this event, which saw hundreds of participants celebrating love and health.
This event wasn’t just a fun run; it was an opportunity to demonstrate JCI’s commitment to creating positive change within our community. By promoting physical activity and fostering a sense of unity, we’ve contributed to a healthier and happier Surigao del Norte. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and partners for their invaluable contributions to this inspiring event. Together, we continue to create positive impact!

Batang Surigaonon: Youthniversity

Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity 2025: Class 001 Makes History!

Making history! The inaugural Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity 2025 – Class 001 successfully concluded on February 15th! This first wave of training, a collaborative effort between the City of Surigao, Local Youth Development Office, and JCI Surigao North led by 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel and Project Chair 2025 LO Treasurer Dy Anne B. Gales, marked a significant milestone in youth empowerment. Expertly delivered and led by 2017 Regional Vice President for JCI Philippines Northern Mindanao, JCI Senator Richmond Anthony Riain Alfonso, the program equipped young leaders with essential skills in understanding and advocating for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) during the morning session.
The afternoon session focused on Parliamentary Procedure, equipping them with practical skills for effective advocacy and community engagement. This inaugural class lays the groundwork for future waves of the Youthniversity, promising continued growth and development of young leaders who will shape a brighter future for Surigao.
The success of Class 001 is a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and investment in youth development.
