This event provided a powerful platform for collaboration and networking with fellow JCI Philippines Area V members, strengthening our bonds and renewing our commitment to building better communities. We forged new partnerships and explored innovative ways to serve.

JCI Surigao North Charts Bold Course for 2025 in Impact-Driven General Membership Meeting

The JCI Surigao North General Membership Meeting, held on January 11, 2025, under the leadership of 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon – Buniel, began with an engaging opening ceremony that set a positive tone for the discussions ahead. Attendees reviewed reports on past accomplishments, including updates on key ongoing projects, which highlighted both successes and challenges. Financial transparency was ensured through the presentation of financial reports, and engaging discussions about upcoming fundraising initiatives fostered a collaborative atmosphere among members.
The latter part of the meeting focused on defining strategic goals for the year ahead, with plans laid out for new initiatives. Members expressed a shared commitment to ‘keep going forward’, translating the strategic discussions into actionable steps for community impact.

“From Closet to Community”

JCI Surigao North Launches “From Closet to Community” to Uplift Mamanwa Tribes through NorthBiz Initiative

JCI Surigao North proudly launched the “From Closet to Community” project under the NorthBiz Flagship Program, a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting the Mamanwa tribes across Surigao del Norte. This project focused on selling pre-loved clothes to raise much-needed funds for the benefit of these indigenous communities.
The pre-loved clothes were generously donated by the following:

• The Fancuvilla Family
• Felixberto Escobido Jr.
• Leah Olayvar
• Jemima Plaza
• Kenn Edgar Parojinog
All the gathered clothes were purchased in full by Fourfold Engineering Services, a Cebu-based Construction Firm represented by Ms. Juneth. Their significant contribution was instrumental in ensuring the success of this initiative and in directly benefiting the Mamanwa tribes.
JCI Surigao North extends its gratitude to all contributors and Fourfold Engineering Services for their support and partnership in making this project impactful and meaningful. 🧡

JCI Surigao North’s 2025 kickstarts with a resounding success: a collaborative and forward-thinking Board of Directors meeting led by 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon – Buniel on January 4, 2025, at Route 99 Cafe, Surigao City. The meeting brought together dedicated team to discuss upcoming events, review the progress of ongoing projects, and evaluate exciting new proposals.

JCI Surigao North held its General Membership Meeting on December 21st, 2024, presided over by our inspiring and dynamic 2025 LO President, Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon-Buniel. The meeting was a testament to the power of connecting – bringing together our members to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and plan for the future. Pres. Kring’s vision and leadership were truly inspiring, setting a positive and ambitious tone for the year ahead. Also present during the meeting is our Immediate Past President, Eric M. Libay.
We spent the day strategizing, collaborating, and reaffirming our commitment to achieving our goals. The energy and dedication displayed by our Board of Directors and members were remarkable. JCI Surigao North Welcomes New Changemakers at “Opportunity to Impact” Orientation Course

JCI Surigao North recently welcomed a new wave of passionate individuals to our organization. On November 30th, 2024, we hosted the Opportunity to Impact: Orientation Course for New Members, a dynamic program designed to ignite their passion for leadership and community service. Led by our inspiring 2025 LO President, Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon – Buniel, with her is our 2025 Executive Vice President Jemima S. Plaza as our Featured Speakers, the session at Maradjaw Events Center equipped our baby Jaycees with the knowledge, skills, and connections to make a meaningful difference in our community.
We’re thrilled to see our new members embark on their journey of leadership and service with JCI Surigao North! JCI Surigao North Joins Regional Council Meeting in CDO, Welcomes New RVP David Emmanuel Piol

JCI Surigao North, led by 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace Calderon Buniel and Immediate Past President – 2025 Regional Secretary Eric M. Libay, proudly attended the Special Regional Council Meeting in Cagayan de Oro City on December 15, 2024, witnessing the transition of leadership from outgoing Regional Vice President Ramon Isagani Bautista III to incoming Regional Vice President David Emmanuel Piol.
This significant event provided a platform for collaboration and strategic planning, setting the stage for a successful year ahead under the guidance of the new leadership.
The meeting was made even more significant by the presence of esteemed JCI leaders, NP Felix Venson Chua III, AVP Charinna Barro-Quilaneta, the Presidents of Sambisig and Likhayan, and distinguished past leaders, Past RVP Deo Anthony Alcudia and Past AVP Jason Alcudia, join us for this momentous occasion. Young Voices Rise: Batang Surigaonon Debate Tournament 2024 Kicks Off with Passion and Purpose

The air filled with anticipation as the first day of the Batang Surigaonon Debate Tournament 2024 kicked off on December 7, 2024. Young minds from across Surigao sharpened their wits and honed their arguments, ready to showcase their skills on the debate stage. Led by 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon – Buniel, JCI Surigao North, in partnership with the City Government of Surigao, Local Youth Development Office – Surigao City, the Surigao Youth Convergence, and DepEd Surigao City Division, spearheaded the event through the tireless efforts of 2025 Local Skills Development Director, Raxiey Adolfo. The tournament promised a thrilling display of intellectual prowess and a platform for the next generation of Surigaonon leaders.
The tournament’s opening day was a testament to the power of youth and the potential of Surigao’s future. JCI Surigao North has created a space for these young minds to shine, fostering their development and inspiring them to become agents of positive change.
