JCI Surigao North and the City Government align on leadership and skills training programs that empower the next generation.

JCI Surigao North, led by 2026 Local Organization President Jemima S. Plaza, together with two of our distinguished past Local Organization Presidents – 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace L. Calderon – Buniel and 2024 LO President Eric M. Libay, paid a courtesy call to Hon. Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II at the City Mayor’s Office last February 18, 2026. The meeting reaffirmed our shared commitment with the City Government of Surigao to advance meaningful youth development initiatives in the city.
In collaboration with the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), this proposed partnership aims to deliver leadership and skills training programs that will equip young Surigaonons to become active partners in nation-building.
With three Local Organization Presidents present together with the members, this engagement reflects JCI Surigao North’s united leadership—past and present—working hand in hand with the city to build better communities and empower the next generation.

JCI Surigao North joins JCI Cagayan de Oro in celebrating leadership, continuity, and the bonds that drive lasting impact.

JCI Surigao North, led by 2026 LO President Jemima S. Plaza, proudly took part in the 76th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies of JCI Cagayan de Oro Inc. held at Pearlmont Hotel last February 8, 2026.
The celebration marked a meaningful transition of leadership—honoring the dedication of the past officers while welcoming a new generation of changemakers ready to lead with vision and commitment.
Our warmest congratulations to the 2025 LO President John Michael Sabellina and his Board of Directors for their one-year to lead. Congratulations and best of luck to the 2026 LO President Ronald Moreno and to the entire 2026 Board of Directors as they continue legacy to #RoNewedMission. As you begin this new leadership journey, may your term be guided by excellence, integrity, and purposeful service.

JCI Surigao North keeps the love and energy flowing at the RLSB Valentine's Fun Run.

JCI Surigao North proudly took part in the RLSB Valentine’s Fun Run as the 2nd-to-the-last hydration station, standing ready to refresh and encourage runners as they neared the final stretch. Every cup of water shared and every word of cheer echoed our commitment to be present and purposeful in moments that matter.
In line with our dedication to active citizenship, our chapter organized and managed a hydration station to help keep runners refreshed and encouraged throughout the course. This modest yet impactful effort highlights our belief that real service is felt most when we are present, hands-on, and responsive to the needs of the community. Our sincere appreciation to our water sponsors, Engr. Jessie Darryl Eviota and The JellyHabit, for their generous support in making this initiative possible.
This initiative reflects our #JourneyOfServiceAndPurpose —supporting community efforts that promote health, resilience, and togetherness. We applaud the Province of Surigao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Robert Lyndon S. Barbers for bringing people together through an event that celebrates wellness and unity.

A Legacy Honored, A New Chapter Begins

JCI Surigao North celebrates JCI Kagayhaan Gold's 38th Induction and renews a partnership built on shared purpose.

JCI Surigao North, led by our 2026 LO President, Jemima Plaza, proudly attended the 38th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies of JCI Kagayhaan Gold last February 7, 2026 at Station 5 Events Center, Cagayan de Oro City. It was an inspiring celebration of leadership, continuity, and brotherhood as we witnessed the successful transition of officers and the strong commitment of the chapter to sustained excellence and service.
Congratulations to 2025 LO President Grant Amoncio and his dedicated Board of Directors for a remarkable year of leadership. We also extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to 2026 LO President Mary Clarisse Khezia Hernandez and her Board of Directors as she embark on her one-year-to-lead. This meaningful gathering also renewed our chapter’s twinning agreements, further strengthening our bonds and shared mission of developing leaders for positive change.

JCI Surigao North Supports Youth Empowerment on Wheels 🚐
JCI Surigao North proudly joined the launch of the Batang Surigaonon Youthniversity on Wheels last January 30, 2026 held at Caraga Regional Science High School, Surigao City, an innovative initiative of the Surigao City Local Youth Development Office that brings vital learning directly to the youth.
In attendance were 2025 LO President Atty. Krystel Grace Calderon-Buniel, together with 2026 LO Treasurer Dy Anne Gales, 2026 Vice President for Business Kate Tokong-Canoy, and 2026 LO Auditor Jiezel Claire Eder, showing the organization’s strong support for programs that protect and empower young people.
The session focused on raising awareness on Class 001: Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material (CSAEM)—equipping students with the knowledge and tools to navigate digital spaces safely and responsibly.
JCI Surigao North remains committed to championing youth development, child protection, and collaborative action toward building safer and more informed communities. 💪🌱

We extend heartfelt congratulations to the 2025 Local Organization President, Jan Adrian Padiernos, and his Board of Directors – a team #BuiltDifferent, who delivered innovative programs and exceptional and excellent results throughout their term.

JCI Surigao North proudly takes the lead as host of the very first season of Suyog sa Kaalam: A JCI Northern Mindanao Regional Training Series, marking a significant step in empowering leaders through knowledge and collaboration. Bringing together passionate JCI members across the region via Zoom, this initiative sets the stage for continuous learning, growth, and shared excellence.
The training featured JCI Surigao Nickel’s 2026 Local Skills Development Director, Gideon Buniel, as the course trainer, who delivered an insightful discussion on JCI Explore. His session introduced participants to the fundamentals of JCI, its opportunities for development, and pathways for active engagement within the organization.
With active participation and strong support from fellow local organizations, this milestone reflects our commitment to developing skills, fostering connections, and sustaining the future of leadership in Northern Mindanao. As we launch this meaningful journey, JCI Surigao North remains dedicated to creating opportunities that inspire, educate, and elevate every member.

Serving Those Who Serve Our Children

JCI Surigao North in collaboration with Surigao City Public Attorney's Office; Service for those who Served

JCI Surigao North, with 2026 Local Communications Director Atty. Princess Jezrael Frondozo and 2026 Local Skills Development Director Raxiey Adolfo, in partnership with the Public Attorney’s Office, assisted the teaching and non-teaching staff of C.V. Diez Memorial Elementary School, Surigao City Pilot School/ District 2 Office, District X Office, Mat-I Central ES, Mat-I National High School, Manjagao ES and NHS, Calderon ES, Togonan ES, Caningag ES, Lope Ruiz Memorial ES, Patricio Bernaldez ES, and Cagutsan ES in Surigao City with the notarization and compilation of Personal Data Sheets (PDS) and Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN). This initiative is in compliance with Civil Service Commission requirements. JCI Surigao North spearheaded the logistical coordination, ensuring a smooth and efficient notarization and compilation process.
We thank the PAO Surigao City District, headed by Atty. Menchie V. Dumagan-Compe, for its unwavering commitment to providing special outreach programs for the benefit of our hardworking DepEd personnel, ensuring that its services remain accessible to the public.

Stronger Together, Island to Island

Three chapters unite for a powerful Joint OTI, deepening JCI values and strengthening the bonds of One JCI Surigao.

JCI Surigao North’s 2024 LO President Eric Libay, proudly joined forces with JCI Surigao Nickel and JCI Siargao to conduct a meaningful Joint Opportunity to Impact (OTI) event in the beautiful island of Siargao last January 17, 2026. The activity was further honored by the presence of 2026 JCI Philippines Northern Mindanao Regional Vice President Junelyn Chavez, whose valuable insights enriched the discussions. Pres. Eric’s inspiring talk empowered aspirants and members alike, deepening their understanding of JCI’s mission, leadership culture, and the opportunities to serve their communities with purpose.
This Joint OTI not only served as a vital learning platform for our aspiring members but also strengthened camaraderie and collaboration among chapters. Through shared experiences, mentorship, and open dialogue, our aspirants were guided to embrace the values of responsible leadership and community building. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to developing purpose-driven leaders ready to make a positive impact across the island and beyond.
